IOS and Mac users can share files even when they are not connected to Wi-Fi or mobile data. However, enabling both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on devices that are about to transfer files is a must.

Where do the AirDrop files go – iOS devices

Photos are stored in one place, and other types of files are stored in other places. If you just received a photo, you will find it in the Photos app.

When it comes to other types of files, such as PDF files or text files, when you receive a file, you will have to choose an app that will be used to open the file. Once you do that, the file you have received will be copied to that app so that you can open it later.
